Ion assumed the leadership of the Piraeus Venture Capital business in January 2015. Ion has been in asset management since 2006 as an investment analyst and has managed capital since 2009 in public and private investments across geographies and sectors. He worked in New York for Octavian Advisors (a Reservoir Capital seeded hedge fund) from 2006 to 2009, focusing on illiquid investments and special situations. At Octavian he initiated investments producing >25% IRR in South East Europe. Before Octavian, Ion was with Deutsche Bank and with Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette's technology corporate finance divisions in London. In addition to finance, Ion is passionate about education and set up NewSchool.Athens, a non profit educational institution that fosters international cooperation in creative and digital professional training. After work, Ion may be found training for a marathon in the streets of Athens or sailing in the Faliron bay.
