Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Georgia Zouni is a lecturer of Tourism Marketing at the following Master Programs of Greek Universities (MBA in Tourism of University of Piraeus, MA in Cultural Management at the Economic University of Athens with the University of Kent, MSc in Tourism Administration at the Greek Open University as she holds a doctorate (Ph.D) in Tourism Marketing.

To date she has contributed to the Tourism academia with peep reviewed papers in international journals, publications, book chapters after review and has also a solid participation in international conferences of Marketing, such as the European Marketing Academy Annual Conference (EMAC), which is also a member. She is also a reviewer of outstanding academic associations of Marketing & Tourism (Academy of Marketing Science, Academy of International Business Environment, European Marketing Academy etc.), and at the same time, the scientific recognition includes being scientific reviewer (ad hoc reviewer) in international journals of Marketing and Tourism, as the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Destination Marketing & Management, Journal of Place Management and Development, and so on. Her work has received the Best Paper Award for the paper “Do Tourism Providers Know their Visitors? An Investigation of Tourism Experience at a Destination” (2008 Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure Conference, University of Strathclyde, UK, 12-14, May).

Her research interests focus on the overall tourist experience and satisfaction, Cultural & Heritage Marketing, the Adoption and Dissemination of Digital Technology in the tourism business (eTourism), and Marketing of tourism Destinations. She was awarded State Scholarship (I.K.Y) during PhD studies and Scholarship of Latsis Foundation during her undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

She is a Member of the American Marketing Science (AMS), the European Marketing Academy (EMAC), Greek Marketing Academy (ELAM), and a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece (E.C.G.)

Her initiatives/actions in Tourism briefly are:

Since 2014 she deals with the development of an innovative e-learning educational program in Business Administration with specialization in Tourism Services of the Piraeus University, where is also is a Lecturer.

She is Head of Academic Committee and Director of Tourism Summer Schools, in cooperation with four European universities (Greece, Spain, Turkey, Slovakia).

she is co-founder of OpenTourism, a wide network of people who love Tourism and work for it that aims to contribute in the diffusion of Knowledge and Innovation in Tourism in Greece, as Member of the National Committee of Medical Tourism of the Ministry of Health, and

Finally, she deals with entrepreneurship, either as co-founder of CVexperts, either a Board Director member of a Hotel Chain in Greece.
